Question
What
has to be defined in order to allow access for user to one file in one
library only?
Answer

To
create a new library, call user maintenance via option 5
in CHGPCS.
At the user,
call display 'all database access data' via option 8,
followed by F9 =
Adding of new libraries to display the screen for adding new
libraries.

In
this example, controlled access via SQL/ODBC
only is possible.
FTP,
DDM and data queue accesses
are not allowed.
The
fields have been changed to value 0 = access
not allowed accordingly.

Then
the record can be displayed via option 8.
You
can specify 9 on the line with the
library record to display the menu for adding of file records.
Now,
multiple file records can be added here consecutively.

Allowed
accesses for FTP, DDM and ShowCase
will be set to value 0 = not allowed.

Read
only is allowed as data authority.

Below
library QGPL only file record ADATA
is being stored.
S
specifies that accesse is allowed via SQL/ODBC
only.

If
logged SELECT accesses exist, option
L can be used for selection.

Now
option S can be specified in front
of the SELECT record.

By
converting via option S, a library
record QIWS and a file record
QCUSTCDT have been created.
As
you can see from these examples, conversion of a rejected access into
access authorities is much easier than manual creation of a library- and
file record.

It
is important to activate access control for database files, either by
using Option A or via field database
access on the quick maintenance menu by specifying Option
K for each user.
